Description |
In this position, you will be researching, designing, testing, implementing and maintaining software systems to meet company needs. You will be using a variety of computer programming languages and applications, working in teams with other professionals, or alone. Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
- Researching, designing, writing and testing new software programs.
- Developing existing systems by analyzing and identifying areas for modification
- Maintaining systems by monitoring, identifying and correcting software defects, investigating new technologies.
- Creating technical specifications and test plans.
- Working with computer coding languages.
- Working closely with other staff, consulting clients and/or colleagues concerning the maintenance and performance of software systems and asking questions to obtain information, clarify details and implement information.
- Constantly updating technical knowledge and skills by attending in-house and/or external courses, reading manuals and accessing new applications.
- Responsible for problem-solving and thinking laterally as part of a team, or individually, to meet the needs of the project.

Requirements |
You should possess a Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Information Technology degree (Licenciatura) or equivalent with more than seven years of relevant experience, a Master's degree with more than three year experience, or a Ph.D. with or without experience. Additional qualifications include:
- Hands-on experience in object oriented design, object oriented development techniques, algorithm design and coding.
- Mastery in at least one of the following languages: C and/or C++, Java*, and C#.
- Software development expertise in Windows* and/or Linux* operating systems.
- Hands-on expertise in two or more in the following areas: Service Oriented.
- Architectures (SOA), Web Services, Application Servers (for example, J2EE*), XML related technologies (for example, XSLT, XML Schema, XML Security, and others), computer security, and performance optimization.
- Strong results orientation.
- A good communicator (in Spanish and English).
- Capability of doing independent work.
- Experience working under Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI) and/or ISO* software quality regime would be an added advantage.
- Knowledge of hardware architectures and assembly programming skills would be an added advantage.
